Aren't they the cutest?!

I love dogs as much as I love kids. I love to be the Auntie. I visit, I play with them, I leave the discipline & clean up to the parents, I go home without them.

I'm sick at home today, with full body ache and a blazing throat. So pardon my mood...

For the past hour, my neighbor's dog has been barking non-stop. (BTW, why is the decibel level of barking inversely proportionate to the size of the dog?) Once every 10 minutes or so, abrupt silence makes me giddy that there's hope for permanent tranquility. Nope, the dog must have just taken a brief break... Crap.

Observing friends that are parents to dogs, some don't seem to appreciate the perspective of non-parents. We want silence. We want sound boundaries. Your dog barking outside, while you neglect them for your morning routine is like me blaring my music every morning. It's not nice. It's like taking a big poop on my silence sanctuary. I. Just. Want. Peace and quiet.

The worse part, you hope, with all hope, that the parents are just occupied with their morning routine, and haven't (please oh please) already left for work, leaving their children dog(s) outside for the day.

Awww.. sorry you're sick BtCoL! Sounds like a flu to me. Remember: lots and lots of fluids (shots of tequila help me get through things).

SGB: Just came out of a 3-hour coma, I mean, nap. Maybe going out tonight, doing some shots, will be the cure I'm lookin' for. TGIF!
